create plone content from external data
i read tomster.org today and wondered if it would be useful to extend his idea a bit. maybe tho its overkill.
to udnerstand this post go and read his,]]
upload the address book, plone recognizes it as a "Filialen" source(a bit like it knows to create a Image type for jpg, gif, png, etc) and create the apropriate content types, or even a new folder(different coutry maybe) and then the needed content types inside the folder.
if you then edit one of the entries(TTW) and point your ftp(webdav anyone?) client at the original file you uploaded it would magicly have all the new data in it. this would probably require some messing around with a marshaling thingies but hey, thats what they are there for rite?
ps: the title is pants, and how do i use trackback here? its time to finally make the move to quills
